Yesterday I was craving, and I mean CRAVING guacamole. I’m in the middle of a seven-day detoxification diet (more on that in a future post) and I am eating super-clean. That means no chips for the guacamole. So what’s a girl craving guac to do?
I used my friend Bremelly’s super-easy recipe and I put the finished product in a tomato. Voila! Craving satisfied and nothing unhealthy passed my detoxing lips. I’m sure this isn’t an original idea, but I’d never thought of it. Now I wonder what took me so long to try this.
Here’s the recipe:
Bremelly’s Easy and Fabulous Guacamole (my title)
- One avacado
- Juice of one lime
- onion to taste
- oregano to taste
Blend and enjoy.
You read that correctly. Bremelly uses oregano. I’d never heard of that. I once took a batch to a party and it was a crowd pleaser.
Today I only used half an avacado, as allowed on this detox diet.
Here’s the yummy result.
When it comes to eating clean, I’ve been guilty of throwing out the baby with the bath water. “I don’t want to eat tortilla chips, therefore guacamole is out of the question.” Why should this be?
The guacamole in a tomato was so delish, I’m going to make this a regular part of my week.
