Snapshot Saturday: My Ugly Right Foot

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Snapshot Saturday. I haven’t run since December and I’ll be off the roads until June. But yesterday I was inspired to bring back SnapSat.

So far I’ve resisted the temptation to share photos of my post-surgery foot.

Until now.

Beth over at Shut Up and Run wrote a post about her ugly foot and Morton’s toe.  She asked on Facebook “are your feet as ugly as mine?”

Game on.

And so, dear friends, I give you…

My Ugly Right Foot

Here's my foot three days after surgery. I got a little queezy seeing this live and in person. I remained a little sick the rest of the day.

Here’s my foot three days after surgery. I got a little queasy seeing this live and in person. I remained a little sick the rest of the day. I jokingly texted this to a friend, telling him I was trying to break him of his annoying foot fetish. His response: “mission accomplished.”

foot at one week

One week from surgery. Bruising is much better. The sight of the stitches bothered me. I only saw my foot during doc visits because it remained dressed and all wrapped up between appointments.

foot at one month

I took this today. Here we are one month out from surgery. Suture lines are looking better. It’s very swollen because I’d just done 40 minutes of elliptical training at the YMCA followed by my physical therapy exercises. My toes look like sausages bursting out of their casings.

So, Beth, if you are reading this, take heart. You’re not the only one with an ugly foot!

Actually Pam, in today’s photo, that big toe is looking nice and trim compared to the other pics. I was gonna ask… “Have you lost weight?”
