Last month 92-year-old Harriette Thompson became the oldest person to complete a marathon. That’s 26.2 miles, folks. I’ve purposely waited to post this Motivation Monday. By now most people have forgotten about Ms. Thompson and she likely won’t get any media attention until she runs another marathon. But she has a lesson for us.

The thing I like about her story is she didn’t run her first marathon until she was 76 years old. My takeaway from that is the clichéd but oh so true saying, “It’s never too late.”

I know someone is reading this who has buried a goal or dream because “It’s too late.” I’m here to tell you it isn’t. You may not be eying your first marathon like I am, but there’s something you’ve decided to no longer hope for because you think you’ve let too much time go by.

Time is going to keep ticking whether or not you live your dream. So why not go for it? You are not too old. Dust off that old dream, create your strategy and work it!
