I had a little scare yesterday.
I arrived at the gym at 5:30 a.m. which means I drove in the dark. As I was going down a quiet neighborhood street I saw something move in front of my car. Straining to see, I made out the outline of a female. She was wearing dark pants, a dark sweatshirt…and nothing else.
By nothing else I mean she wore no reflective wristbands, no headlamp, nothing that would make her visible. And she was not at an intersection when she crossed the road.
Thank goodness I wasn’t speeding. Thank goodness she quickened her pace and got out of the way of my car.
I wanted to pull over and lecture her on the importance of reflective tape, but I decided that a car pulling to the side of the road in the dark might frighten her, so I kept going.
But I’ll say it to you. If you run in the dark, as I have many times, for the love of all that’s good and holy,
DRESS TO BE SEEN!
I am getting this for biking. I am sure it would be good for running as well.
Now that’s cool, FG2TG!
