Second Spring

One of the many things I enjoyed about our recent trip to Maine was seeing all the flowers. Mainers love their landscaping. Hosta appears to be the state plant because it was used in abundance in residential and business landscaping.

The iris is the state flower of Tennessee, where I was born, raised, and live today. Here the beautiful iris finished its bloom cycle a couple of months ago, but in Maine, yard after yard boasted irises in full bloom. It was like enjoying a second Spring.

I love yellow irises. I belive the large flowering bush is rhododendron. Can anyone confirm?

Irises!

Irises!

Tulips are long gone in Nashville, but they're still showing off a bit in Maine.
