Snapshot Saturday: Rudolph’s Red Nose Run

I woke up so sore from yesterday’s 17 miles, I decided to do three miles on the elliptical trainer. That didn’t make for great photos, but take heart.

I had camera in hand at last night’s Rudolph’s Red Nose Run 5K which benefited NeedLink of Nashville.  I didn’t run this one, but the hubs did. This was the first time he ran a 5K that I wasn’t registered for. I got to watch him start and finish.

This was my first experience with the Rudolph. What fun! The race precedes the annual Nashville Christmas parade. The race/parade route is lined with spectators so the runners have a lot of support. Costumes are encouraged and I saw some great ones last night. Sadly, I didn’t have the camera set properly so a lot of my pics are too dark to publish, but here are a few.

One of my YMCA workout buddies, Metro Nashville Councilwoman Jacobia Dowell performed her civic duty by judging the costumes.

I ran into another cute friend on mine, John Winnett. John serves on NeedLink's board of directors and manned the corral reserved for the speed demons.

I need to give a shout out to hubs. He’s never done a 5K in under 31 minutes. He worked hard last night and had a PR of 30:22. Go hubs!

It was such a fun evening, I won’t be content to stay on the sidelines next year. I’m already thinking about my costume.

Do you have any holiday races on your schedule? Running in costume?
