Snapshot Saturday: A Warm December Afternoon

I normally run first thing in the morning, but this morning I’d committed to taking my mom to the cemetery so she could put Christmas flowers on the graves of my dad and her parents. We do this every year and since I’m soon going to die  from over-exercising, I thought it would be best to keep the commitment I’d made.

I’ve been dealing with pretty bad foot pain lately and I’ve been doing all of my mileage on the elliptical trainer.  This is a recovery (low mileage) week. I only had to run five miles today. This afternoon the weather was 68 degrees with 40% humidity. Perfection. Screw the treadmill and elliptical. I took it outside.

The tree on the lawn of the local library is all Christmassy.

I hardly ever see a train crossing the track above the path.

I sign ignored by all.

Yay!

The fall foliage is gone but the area is still lovely.

Lots of dog owners out today.

I took my time on this run. The goal was to pay attention to my foot strikes and pain. I was able to jog every step. I’m still sore but nothing like what I’ve experienced in past weeks. I’m hopeful for continued improvements.

What’s the weather like where you live? Were you able to go outside and play?
