I’ve just learned that tomorrow, October 1 is national Take Your Daughter Running Day. Why didn’t I know this sooner? Well, it probably has something to do with the fact that I don’t have a daughter…or a son. And my 87-year-old mom doesn’t run.
There are only two ways I can think of to participate in this austere occasion: someone a few years older than me can adopt me for a couple of hours, or one of you can loan me your daughter for the morning.
I’ll be at the Concord Road YMCA in Brentwood, Tennessee at 5 a.m. (yes, that’s in the morning) or so. If it’s raining as predicted, I’ll grumble through three miles on the dreadtreadmill. If it’s dry I’ll run in the well-lit neighborhood.
Any takers?
