I’m finishing Week 3 of my marathon “pre-training” plan which I received from the Little Rock Marathon.
As it happened, I really didn’t want to run this morning. I got a late start and as I was entering the green way I saw two friends who had just finished their workouts. It was great to see them, but once we parted ways I found myself wishing I’d also just finished.
I feel very out of shape following the layoff I took earlier this summer. As I waddled along during this morning’s run I kept thinking about how good I used to feel when running compared to how I feel now. I was tempted to beat myself up over it, but decided that to do so would be counter-productive.
Instead, I chose to focus on the fact that I’m back out there.
